Data Collector Advanced Metering Infrastructure for Smart Meter
The remote reading system adopts the advanced wireless network data
transmission technology. It can collect the water, electricity,
gas, heat of residents in real-time, and can realize the
centralized storage and unified management of data. It conforms the
technical requirements of JG/T 162-2009(remote reading system of
residents). Compared with the same kind of meter reading system,
this system has the features of network self-adaption, free of
debug, maintenance-free, stable operation, convenient expansion.
The remote reading system consists of metering management system
software, data collector, data concentrator, and smart meter. The
concentrator up channel communication type: GPRS network, telephone
line network, Ethernet network. And the down channel can match
different type of collector according to the actual application.

In the remote meter reading system, the concentrator will unify all
the meter data and store automatically, at the same time, it can
receive the control command from the management center and then
transfer to the meter. This system has the excellent compatibility
and expansibility. It can manage one kind of smart meter, and also
can realize the unified management of water, electricity, gas , and
heat smart meter.
1.1 Modular Function Design
The concentrator adopts the embedded module which the R1610C is the
core, and has resource like the serial port, Ethernet port, clock,
etc.Every function is module designed, and the operation is stable
and convenient for expanding.

1.2 Stable and Reliable of Data Storage
The concentrator adopts the memory with 32M large capacity and high
reliability. The data storage and check speed is very quick.
Support sector balance, long term service life and it will keep the
data more than 10 years after power off.
1.3 Fully Automatic Function Design
The concentrator maintains the communication link of subordinate
equipment. It can realize the data collecting automatically,
without human intervention.
1.4 The concentrator has the function of restart from failure and
power supply check, to ensure the long-term stable operation.

2.2 Working Condition:
Installation position requirements: The installation position must
has the China mobile GSM network signal coverage.
Management center requirements:Network server of data management
center must has the stable IP address. If has no IP address, it
need to equipped with a data transmission terminal (GPRS DTU)
2.3 Operating Method
1)Set up the server IP and address
The default server of concentrator IP: 184.108.40.206,port
number:8001, address: 0001, administration division code: 0371.
Set up the parameters of concentrator through RS232 according to
stable IP and port of data management center. And set up the
address and administration division according to the actual need.
2)Fix the concentrator
Fix firmly on the concentrator according the concentrator fixing
hole position. If the concentrator will be installed outside, it
need to install in the protective box. Connect the GSM antenna to
the antenna terminals at the right side of concentrator, and the
radio-frequency antenna connect to the antenna terminals at the
left side of concentrator. Insert the GPRS function mobile phone
card into the SIM card slot.
The concentrator connect to AC power 220V, 50Hz according to the
wiring connection diagram.
4)Set up the concentrator operating parameters
It can set up the parameters after log in the management center.
Such as: date and time, meter reading time interval, network
maintenance time interval.
5)Download the meter address
Download the collector address of management center software and
meter address to the concentrator after finish to set up the
operating parameters of concentrator. After finish the downloading,
the concentrator can work normally.
2.4 Indicator Light Description
IO0:TCP connection indicator light. When the concentrator connects
to the server, the indicator light will turned on. It will not be
turn on for other condition.
IO1:PPP connection indicator light.It will be turned on when the
mobile phone card registered to the mobile network. It will not be
turn on for other condition.
IO2:Operating indicator light. It will glitter under the system
IO3:Network status indicator light. It will be turned on during the
network time interval. It will not be turn on during other time
IO4:Meter reading time interval indicator light. It will be turned
on during the meter reading time interval. It will not be turn on
during other time interval.
1) The power cable should adopt the RVVB type 2×0.75mm2 or thicker cable, and install the earth-leakage protective device.
The power supply of concentrator should be stable and reliable, to
avoid can’t read the meter caused by the power outage.
2)The concentrator can store 31 day freezing data and 12 meter
reading day freezing data.If the concentrator will be power off at
the freezing time, it can’t produce the freezing data.
3)The concentrator has equipped with 2 antenna. The left side at
the top of case connects to the radio-frequency antenna, and the
right side connect to the GSM antenna.
4)Only install the antenna and mobile phone card, can power on the
